Dr. Bayoumi is an Egyptian Canadian neurosurgeon interested in
treating
surgical disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, and vertebral column. He is board certified by
the EANS (European Association of Neurosurgical Societies) to become an FEBNS (Fellow of the
European Board of Neurosurgical Surgery). He is interested with dealing with a wide range of cranial
and spinal neurosurgical diseases in both adult and pediatric age groups with special focus on spine
degenerative diseases, spine fractures, spine deformities, spine infections, and spinal tumors.
Ahmed graduated from Ain Shams University (ASU) with Excellent with
Honors to
be appointed as an intern and resident physician at the Department of Neurosurgery in Ain Shams
University Specialized Hospitals where he received his Master’s Degree (MSc) defending his thesis
about surgical management of Lumbar Spondylolisthesis. He had the opportunity to join Harvard
Medical School (HMS) in Boston, Massachusetts as a Research Scholar / Fellow with his mentor, Dr.
Ekkehard Kasper MD PhD, to conduct several research studies and present at multiple national and
international conference meetings.
He moved to Istanbul, Turkey to join BAU (Bahcesehir
University) as a Clinical Spine Fellow and Research Fellow at Rhoton Lab where co-directed several
skull base surgery fellowships with world-class neurosurgeons such as Dr. Al-Mefty and Dr. Oliveira.
He was mentored by Dr. Turker Kilic, MD, PhD. He was an instructor of neuroscience in the same
institution teaching MSc and PhD students. Meanwhile he earned his MBA degree from BAU.
He later immigrated to Ontario, Canada to join McMaster University
as a
clinical fellow at the Division of Neurosurgery in Hamilton General Hospital to work under Dr. Cenic
and Dr. Kachur. He was trained in the field of both spine surgery and neurosurgical oncology at
McMaster.
